– Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 declined 1.84% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 1.98% or 0.280 points to trade at 14.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) fell 0.24% or 0.0012 points to end at 0.5020 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was down 0.58% or 0.17 points to 28.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which fell 4.22% or 0.62 points to trade at 14.07 at the close. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) declined 4.04% or 0.081 points to end at 1.910 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) was down 3.69% or 0.47 points to 12.14.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 337 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.69% or 0.47 to 12.14.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.20% or 1.61 to $71.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.32% or 1.93 to hit $81.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 2.41% or 28.80 to trade at $1222.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1576, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 94.87.
