Norway stocks lower at close of trade; Oslo OBX down 3.54%

– Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Transport and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 3.54% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Telenor ASA (OL:TEL), which fell 0.55% or 0.9 points to trade at 162.5 at the close. Meanwhile, SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) fell 1.72% or 8.20 points to end at 467.60 and P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) was down 2.30% or 10.40 points to 441.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which fell 15.36% or 32.75 points to trade at 196.30 at the close. Petroleum GeoServices ASA (OL:PGS) declined 9.23% or 1.64 points to end at 16.81 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) was down 7.90% or 4.95 points to 60.05.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 173 to 20 and 11 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.42% or 1.81 to $51.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.43% or 2.11 to hit $59.45 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1245.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.58% to 9.7052, while USD/NOK rose 0.31% to 8.5318.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.743.
